VEQTOR Africa Security

Security Statement

This Security Statement explains, at a high level, how VEQTOR Africa approaches infrastructure security, hosting environment security, monitoring, backup practices, access control, and operational resilience across the services we provide.

Last updated: 11 April 2026

1. Introduction

At VEQTOR Africa, security is a core part of how we design, provision, manage and support our services. We understand that customers trust us with websites, applications, email, infrastructure, business continuity, and in many cases sensitive or commercially important data. That trust matters.

This Security Statement explains, at a high level, how VEQTOR Africa approaches infrastructure security, hosting environment security, monitoring, backup practices, access control, and operational resilience. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, POPIA Statement, Acceptable Use Policy, and any service-specific terms that apply to your chosen products.

2. Infrastructure and Hosting Environment

VEQTOR Africa makes use of professional infrastructure providers and datacentre facilities, including OVHcloud infrastructure where applicable to the service being delivered. Depending on the product selected, customer services may be provisioned in infrastructure locations in different regions, including North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia-Pacific, Australia, Singapore and other supported territories where relevant infrastructure is available through our underlying providers.

VEQTOR Africa does not claim ownership of third-party datacentres or third-party certifications. Where certifications, standards or compliance frameworks are referenced, these relate to the applicable service provider or infrastructure environment and only to the extent that they apply to the relevant service scope.

3. Physical Security

Where VEQTOR Africa services are delivered using third-party datacentre infrastructure, physical site security is managed primarily by the relevant facility operator or infrastructure provider. This may include controlled access, monitored facilities, surveillance, environmental controls, resilient power design, and related physical protections according to the provider’s service and facility standards.

VEQTOR Africa complements this by controlling logical access to the systems and services it manages, limiting administrator access, and applying operational safeguards appropriate to the services it provides.

4. Network Security

VEQTOR Africa takes reasonable steps to protect the network and services under its control. Depending on the service, this may include firewalling, service hardening, rate limiting, brute-force and malicious login detection, anti-spam controls, malware scanning, DDoS-aware operational handling, access restrictions to administrative services, and monitoring of service health and suspicious behaviour.

Where infrastructure is hosted on third-party platforms such as OVHcloud, VEQTOR Africa also benefits from the underlying provider’s infrastructure-level security programme, backbone design, and related security measures applicable to those environments.

5. Server and Platform Security

VEQTOR Africa applies reasonable security practices to managed and shared environments under its control. Depending on the service type, this may include operating system updates, patching, service hardening, malware and abuse monitoring, logging and event review, firewall rule enforcement, credential hygiene, and response actions designed to preserve service stability and customer security.

For shared and managed environments, VEQTOR Africa may apply patches, configuration changes, security controls or mitigation steps where reasonably necessary to maintain service quality, security and platform integrity.

6. Customer Responsibility

Security is a shared responsibility. Customers remain responsible for the security of their own passwords, access methods, applications, plugins, themes, scripts, custom code, user accounts, uploaded content and customer-controlled software.

Customers are strongly encouraged to enable strong authentication, keep software updated, review logs, remove unused components, maintain local and off-platform backups, and report any suspected compromise or abuse without delay.

7. Backups and Recovery

VEQTOR Africa may provide backup features, courtesy backups, managed backup services, or optional backup add-ons depending on the selected service. Backup frequency, retention and scope may vary by product and service category.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, backups are provided on a reasonable-effort basis and should not be treated as the customer’s sole disaster recovery strategy. Customers remain responsible for keeping independent, current and tested backups of all important data, systems and content.

VEQTOR Africa may monitor the state of backup systems and investigate backup failures where appropriate, but cannot guarantee that every backup will be complete, current, recoverable, or suitable for every recovery scenario.

8. Monitoring and Incident Response

VEQTOR Africa monitors relevant services and infrastructure elements to help identify service outages, abnormal load, hardware or service degradation, abusive traffic, spam activity, suspicious login behaviour, malware incidents, and other events affecting the health or security of the platform.

Where a security incident, compromise or credible threat is identified, VEQTOR Africa may take steps including investigation, access restriction, password reset, service isolation, filtering, suspension, takedown, remediation requests, escalation to suppliers, and lawful disclosure where required.

9. Data Protection and Privacy

VEQTOR Africa treats data protection as part of security. We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, POPIA Statement and applicable law. Where services involve cross-border infrastructure, software or support tooling, personal information may be processed in more than one jurisdiction where required for lawful service delivery.

VEQTOR Africa seeks to ensure that such processing takes place on a lawful basis and with reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service and legal context.

10. Third-Party Providers and Certifications

VEQTOR Africa may rely on third-party infrastructure, software and service providers as part of service delivery. This includes providers such as OVHcloud where applicable.

Any mention of third-party certifications, standards or security frameworks is made for transparency and reference only. Such certifications remain those of the relevant provider and must not be interpreted as meaning that VEQTOR Africa itself holds the same certification unless VEQTOR Africa expressly states that separately.

11. Limitations

No hosting environment, cloud service, software stack, supplier network or internet-facing platform is immune from attack, failure, human error or external disruption. VEQTOR Africa therefore does not guarantee that security incidents will never occur, that services will always be uninterrupted, or that any particular threat can be fully prevented.

VEQTOR Africa does, however, commit to taking security seriously, applying reasonable safeguards, responding to incidents responsibly, and improving its operational security posture as the business grows.

12. Further Information
